St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Primary School

Live, Love, Believe.

The school is in a fortunate position of being involved with two High schools who support the development of athletics in the school.  Christ the King College PE department hosts the KS2 sports day meaning that the children have the experience of competitive sport organised and staffed by secondary staff and PE students.  It is a great celebration of sport.

Medina High School also have great links with the school and run an Olympic Sports Event that Year 5 and/or 6 take part in.

The school also takes part in the Island Games event that happens annually and competes against all the other Island Primary Schools.

Indoor Athletics  7.12.16

A team from Year 6 competed in the Indoor Athletics (Newport Heat) at Medina College. Each child had to complete a field, track and relay event. The majority of children were participating in these events for the very first time. There were many fine individual and team performances throughout the afternoon in a strong field. What was equally impressive was the team spirit shown in supporting each other in every event.
We came in a very respectable 6th overall, well done to our Year 6 team.
